We are a well established organization with a spotless safety record and do everything possible to maintain this status from the basics of personal flotation devices to guides with adequate training and a constant back-up on land which can support and coordinate in times of need. In addition, guides have full authority to re-route or cancel a tour when the conditions aren’t safe.
Alex Ciocanel founded Axess Extreme in the summer of 2001. He fell in love with Lagos and its incredible potential for outdoor activities a summer earlier, while travelling through Portugal. Being a passionate surfer, kayaker and sailor himself the spirit of the town laid his hands on him and didn't let go anymore. Alex knew that this was the place he wanted to make his dream come true: building his very own extreme sports company and sharing his passion and knowledge with others. Since putting his first kayaks on the water in 2001 he has been able to expand his activities to climbing and abseiling. In addition to those activities he also started organising Jeep Safaris, mountain biking, sailing, wind- and kitesurfing, wakeboarding, parasailing, scuba diving and blow carting through some partner companies. He has always invested much time and effort in working very closely with the local community to be able to offer the widest and most complete range of outdoor activities. With a Bsc degree in Sports Science, a BSc in Geology and several professional sports qualifications (Sailing Yacht Master, Ski Instructor etc.) he will try to accomodate and satisfy any of your requests regarding extreme sports and background information on the local geography, flora and fauna.
